Live Music Gigs downstairs in The Oliver Plunkett are free of charge 7 nights a week. Every Monday we have the session called “Andy Dunne Full Circle” an evening of Folk and Contemporary Irish Music. Every Tuesday and Saturday afternoon we welcome on stage Cork’s most accomplished trad musicians who perform during “The Lee Sessions”.Our famous “The Midnight Rambles” weekly Jamming sessions take place every Thursday in the middle of the bar. Inspired by Levon Helms creation of the same name, The Midnight Ramble is a collection of some of Corks best musicians coming together every Thursday night at midnight to blow the house down with a plethora of classic tunes. Led by John O Connor of John Blek and The Rats fame, this improvised musical session can take you on a journey traversing every genre of music, across multiple eras and can often feature surprise guest ramblers including Mick Flannery, Duke Special, Maura O Connell, Mickey Joe Harte, Joe O Leary, Evelyn Kallansee and many more. Every week, John is joined by some of the best local talent such as Anna Mitchell, Hank Wedel, Brian Hassett, Davey Ryan, Clare Sands, Eoghan “Regie” O Regan, Hugh Dillon, Mike O Riordan, Niall McCabe and tonnes more! Dave Fanning of 2FM regularly expresses his love for The Midnight Ramble as being one of the best gigs he has ever seen! On Every Thursday from Midnight it is one gig, not to be missed!
Take a step back in time, The Frisky Irish Whisky Bar incorporates elements of old time, small town Ireland and creates a new concept for nightlife in Cork City.
